Triumph's YouTube Channel

Did you know that Triumph North America has a YouTube Channel?

Judging by the amount of views on their videos, not many people do. Which is a shame, because there is some cool stuff on there, like this technical video on the changes in the 2009 Daytona 675:

Definitely some stuff worth checking out.

You Never Know Who You Might See at the Shop...

Rummaging through his archive of digital memories, Alex turned up this gem.

Yup, that's Rolling Stone, Keith Richards.

Cool.

Create Your Triumph

If you haven't seen it, Triumph has a great tool on their main USA site which allows you to visualize how your bike could look with all those accessories you have been dreaming about.

Above is my  personal dream bike, a Scrambler with some extra trimmings.

Try the Create Your Triumph tool for yourself.

Just for fun, here is a sweet video that one of Jim's riding buddies sent a link to:

Awesome Promotions on New Vespas

Vespa Ridgefield is very excited to announce a couple brand new incentives Vespa just announced available when you purchase a new Vespa LX 150, S 150, or LXV 150. Take advantage of Vespa USA’s $500 Stimulus Package, buy a new Vespa 150 cc scooter and get both a FREE EXTENDED WARRANTY (gives you a total of 3 years) and get a whopping 4.9% financing for 36 months (with approved credit). Plus, most buyers will be eligible to deduct the sales tax on their 2009 income taxes. There has never been a better time to buy a new Vespa 150!

These incentives are fantastic, I can’t believe they are offering 4.9% financing, $500 off, AND a free extended warranty. Usually Vespa makes these types of promotions mutually exclusive. This is the first time we've seen them combine these programs into one super-sweet deal.
The Vespa 150’s are our best selling scooters. They offer the highest consumer report ratings of any scooter on the market, the highest resale of any scooter on the market, travel at speeds up to 55 mph, get a whopping 75 mpg, manufactured in Italy, offer a steel frame, and offer twist-n-go automatic transmissions. They are the perfect scooters for commuting to the train station, or running local errands.

Swing by Vespa Ridgefield today and take advantage of these fantastic incentives. If you have been contemplating the purchase of a new Vespa, now is the time.

Great Review of Gerbing's New Micro Wire Heated gear

There was a great review of Gerbing's new heated gear featuring the new Micro Wire technology in the Oct/Nov issue of RoadRunner magazine, which is now available on-line.

Here is a brief taste:

Before the scooter's wheels had even touched the snow outside the carport, the flow of heat was noticeable, and by the end of the driveway, I had to stop and notch back the dial a bit. The new system heats up as soon as the power hits, and despite the constant rush of frigid freeway air, my core temperature remained warm, almost to the point of sweating. An hour-long, slush-dodging ride wound up being a perfectly comfortable affair. And perhaps most amazingly, the Microwire™-equipped liner isn't much heavier than a thin windbreaker.

You can order the new Micro-Wire heated gear from Branchville Motors online,  and we also have some Gerbing's heated gear available at our eBay store.

Vespa Vagabond

As the weather turns more and more winterish, many New England scooterists trade the saddle for the armchair.
Vespa Vagabond is a great blog for fueling those scootering daydreams.
It is the story of photographer Shreve Stockton's journey from San Francisco to New York City on her Vespa ET4... well I'll just let her speak for herself:

Joy, freedom, faith.... somehow these gray out at times in our lives, in the rush of society, normalcy, shoulds. For two months I lived outside all that, lived fully immersed in the thrill, the ecstasy, the unknown. And it was divine. This site recounts the ride - August 1st to October 1st 2005 - and all that I thought and saw and did.

Her blog is full of great writing and gorgeous photography, just the thing to get you schemeing for the next riding season.

More Proof that Vespas have Class

A couple weeks ago, the New York Times ran a story about Tom Boissonnault, a technology teacher at Eastchester Middle School in Eastchester, N.Y.
Mr. Boissonault, it seems struck upon the brilliant idea of teaching kids about design and engineering through the hands-on project of restoring a 1966 Vespa Allstate. Not just any barn find, this classic Vespa had been dredged from the bottom of a lake!

The article is a worthwhile read.

Shoei Helmet Sale

I mentioned a few days ago that we have begun to see Shoei RF-1100 helmets come into stock.
This means of course, that we have a few Shoei RF-1000s on the shelf that need to go. We are letting these go for 20% of list price, and you can either purchase them at our eBay store, or come into the shop to insure you get a proper fit.

Shoei has also updated the X-11 to a X-12. We have a handful of X-11s left, and are offering the same 20% off deal on our remaining inventory of Shoei X-11s.

Large Victory Vegas Banner on eBay

Digging through the vaults, we just turned up this great Victory Vegas promotional banner from 2002 or 2003. This thing is HUGE, measuring 33" x 94".

Could be just the thing for that Victory rider on your holiday shopping list.
